Rumor is someone grabbed Tom’s ass in Ireland (lucky girl). Anyway, someone said recently he hasn’t been signing autographs or taking pics because of it. Has anyone heard this?
Yeah, there was somebody. She got…
I heard the Ireland thing was some girl who asked Tom for his number when he was on a night out over there and he said no and then she tried to call him out for it on Twitter which is where that ‘I don’t have time to be friends with anybody’ tweet came from. *shrugs*
I find it funny that just because one person has said Tom isn’t meeting fans because of the Ireland thing that it’s taken as gospel. Have other people maybe considered Tom has been working flat out for months now and is probably so in Hanks head space right now that’s the reason he’s not meeting anybody. Because, this is his job after all. Just saying, I’ve seen people on twitter getting upset and there’s really no need.
I heard that girl worked in events management and tried to get Tom to come to one of the parties her company were doing in Belfast. So it was at least half professional. But seriously, even if she had tried to get his number for purely personal reasons, why would Tom stop meeting fans because one of them hit on him? I’m sure that’s happened before and he ain’t no wallflower. Makes no sense and is just silly. Fuelled by fan shamers and gossip blogs, it has sadly become the norm in this fandom to blame failed attempts to meet Tom on allegedly disrespectful fans that met him before. And it’s so easy too. “Disrespectful” fans are such easy scapegoats. During Bangor, the Toronto fans were blamed. During Toronto, the Donmar fans were blamed. And so on and so forth. In this case the Bangor fans get blamed for incidents that didn’t even happen. But until Tom or someone from his team come right out and say that he’s not meeting fans because of some shit that happened before, it’s nothing but wild assumptions.
Yeah because everyone wants to pass the blame on and call themselves the ‘respectful’ fans. Which is all crap really because nobody would be chewing him out at all for it!
The Donmar was the first time I’d heard of any ‘incident’ (real or not) but now I feel like I come to expect there to be some wild rumour flying around about something.
It’s like primary school and they’re the new kids bitching because they aren’t in with the popular kid yet.
I think it’s because many people are less and less willing to take no for an answer, to accept that sometimes things just simply don’t work out the way they want them to, without there being a real reason. Sometimes life just sucks and fate is cruel. Instead they need someone to blame for “ruining” their chances because that makes disappointments much easier to bear.
